Cabbage Rolls

8 large cabbage leaves
1 lb. hamburger
½ cup cracker crumbs
minced onions to taste
½ cup rice
1 green pepper, chopped
1 egg, beaten
salt and pepper to taste
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (15 oz.) tomatoes
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. each thyme and oregano
garlic powder to taste

Boil cabbage leaves in water to cover in saucepan until tender; drain and set aside. Combine next 7 ingredients in bowl with enough tomato sauce to moisten, mixing well.

Roll hamburger mixture in cabbage leaves. Place in baking dish.

Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour over cabbage rolls.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
