Steak Hot Dish

1-½ lb. round steak, cubed
2 medium onions, chopped
2 tbsp. shortening
1 can mushroom soup
1 can mushrooms
2 cans chicken rice soup
2 cup chopped celery
1 cup rice
salt and pepper to taste

Brown steak and onions in shortening in skillet. Add ½ cup water. Simmer for 1 hour. Mix remaining ingredients with 2 cups water in bowl. Combine steak and onions with soup mixture in 4 quart baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 1-½ to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
