Barbecued Spareribs

4 lb. spareribs
2 tbsp. shortening
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. margarine
2 tbsp. vinegar
4 tbsp. lemon juice
1 cup catsup
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
½ tsp. mustard
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
½ cup diced celery

Brown ribs on both sides in shortening in Dutch oven. Brown onion in margarine in skillet. Add remaining ingredients and 1 cup water to onion, heating until very hot. Pour over ribs. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 2 hours.
