Cheddar Apple Bread

½ cup sugar
½ cup shortening
1 egg
1 can apple pie filling
2-½ cup sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup chopped pecans

Cream sugar and shortening together in bowl. Add egg, mixing well. Beat in pie filling.

Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients, cheese and pecans to batter.

Pour into loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1-½ hours.
