Chipperoo Bars

2/3 cup shortening, melted
1 lb. brown sugar
2-¾ cup flour
2-½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
3 eggs, beaten
1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Combine first 2 ingredients in bowl; set aside.

Sift dry ingredients together; set aside.

Beat eggs into brown sugar mixture. Add flour mixture slowly, mixing well.

Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
