Heritage Casserole

1-½ lb. beef steak, cubed
3 tbsp. oil
½ cup chopped onion
3 cup cooked rice
½ cup sour cream
1 tsp. salt
½ cup catsup
1 cup cottage cheese
½ cup chopped sweet pickle
¼ tsp. pepper
1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Cook beef in hot oil in skillet until lightly browned on all sides; add onion. Simmer, covered, for about 20 minutes. Drain. Add remaining ingredients except cheese, blending thoroughly. Turn into buttered 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.
