Round Steak Italiano

2 pound beef round steak, cut 3/4 inch thick
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1/2 pound bulk italian sausage
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
3/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
1/8 tsp. pepper
Hot buttered noodles
Grated parmesan cheese

Cut steak into 8 pieces; pound to 1/2 inch thickness. In skillet brown steaks in hot oil. Remove steaks.

In same skillet brown the sausage, breaking into small pieces; drain. Add tomato sauce, apple juice, onion, garlic salt, oregano, and pepper. Return steaks to skillet. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 50 minutes. Skim fat. Remove steaks to platter; pour sauce over. Serve with noodles; pass parmesan.
